Foundation Vision

The vision of Flathead Performance Youth Foundation is to promote the health, safety and emotional, physical and educational development of the youth of Montana. This vision will be accomplished through the purchase of AED's (Automated External Defibrillators) for high school athletic training rooms, development of scholarships and supporting other non-profit organizations that provide services that benefit the youth of Montana.

Mike Carey, LAT, ATC        

President

Mike is a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer and is a state licensed Athletic Trainer.  Mike graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in both Human Biology and Athletic Training.  After working as an Athletic Trainer in professional hockey for 8 years, he moved with his family to the Flathead Valley to start his own business. He is the owner of Flathead Performance Training and is also on the Board of Directors of the Flathead Soccer Club.  Mike lives in Kalispell with his wife Kim and daughters, Shaniya and Madison.

 

 

Scott Ruta, MSPT, ATC, CPed                                                                      

Vice-President

Scott is a Physical Therapist and licensed Athletic Trainer. Scott earned his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis and B.S. in Athletic Training from Carthage College. He moved to Whitefish in 1998 and started Whitefish Therapy.  In 2008, he completed construction and opened the doors of SPORT Center, a complete rehabilitation and training center located in Whitefish.  Scott lives in Whitefish with his wife Erica.

 

Ben Kingan, DPT, CSCS

Ben is a Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Ben earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis and B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois. Ben moved to Whitefish in 2007 joining the staff at Whitefish Therapy.  Ben lives in Whitefish. 

 

Steve Paulson

Steve Paulson is a licensed residential mortgage banker with Mann Mortgage - Kalispell.  A Montana native, Steve attended Flathead High School and Western Montana College.  He currently lives with his wife Tonia and daughters Madelena and Gabriella in Kalispell.  Steve also serves as the Vice President of Flathead Soccer Club and is a member if Business Network International.

 

Josh Baugh
